Mike Edwards (Eddie the Eagle) was on stage to deliver the prize to Swift Logistics' Rob Holmes with Jon Thompson West Berkshire.
Mike spoke,
The work and dedication of the Swift Logistics team in training and mentoring young adults across the district is second to none.
Under the guidance of Rob Holmes, Logistics Manager, the group provides high quality, personalised traineeships and work experience for a range of young people across the West Berkshire district. The logistics trainees develop both in terms of work skills and, just as importantly, confidence in their own abilities. The range of young people involved in the training can vary and Rob and his team go out of their way to structure training around the needs of the learners, developing successful programmes to support learners with special needs, learning difficulties and personal challenges.
In addition to high quality training in warehousing the trainees also develop important employability skills that will support their progression on to apprenticeships, employment and further learning. Rob personally ensures that each trainee leaves the organisation with excellent, detailed references and supporting evidence to move forward in their chosen career.
