Our transport sector is looking green.

EV Maxus van launch – Volta centre-seat electric

HVS Hydrogen truck – electric scooters

LSA were in Birmingham for the Commercial Vehicle, CV Show. It was a treat of next generation transport logistics, Hydrogen truck lunch, EV centre seat delivery wagon from Volta, EV latest van launch by Harris Maxus and a host of electric final mile scooters, our sector is looking green.

200 + exhibitors at the NEC Birmingham, the CV show has become predominantly the van show, but there were still some trucks, including the electric centre-seat Volta and brand new, space age styled hydrogen HGV by HVS.

Ford of Britain held their key spot at the hall entry area below the stairs and showcased the latest Ford courier van with space for two euro pallets. Every derivative of the Transit was on show.

Harris MAXUS launched their latest mid-sized electric van with possible delivery from Q3 and talk of price around £50k. We were reminded that the Maxus is not an LDV, it's a Harris and imported via Liverpool.

There was opportunity to walk the yellow carpets, meet govt agencies including National Highways and DVSA, and see a line-up of companies offering hundreds of products - including accessories, cameras, consumables, electrical components and fleet management systems, vehicle security & van storage systems. Bridgewater had a predictive camera system and Air Bar showcased blow-up pop-outs for avoidance linked to the indicators.

Next key trade show in the transport calendar is Microlise conference, Coventry May 17th, then IWLEX at Telford, 23rd & 24th May, Multiomdal at the NEC June 13th and 14th.

LSA will be at IWLEX both days, showcasing final mile and there to ask the delivery at door questions to wide sector transport. Mark your diary. See you in Telford.

If you missed the show, no problem.
