West Thames College and LSA showcase logistics in Lord Mayor's Show for Alastair King

Logistics Skills Alliance and West Thames College chuffed to bits to be in the heart of the transport and logistics of the Lord Mayor's Show for Remembrance Weekend, The alliance of walking the City of the Square Mile was with the livery of fuel, the livery of fuellers and their RNLI float nine entry. Carl Lomas and Stormy Stan RNLI mascot were with an Ineos Grenadier four by four to haul a D class lifeboat centre of the road from Mansion House to the Aldwych.
In 2023 the LSA and West Thames College joined IOC transport logistics entry with a clean air Evri gas truck float adorned with zero emission vehicles to deliver in the City of London for the prestigious Lord Mayor's Show. For this year, LSA chair Carl Lomas and UWL Dr Tracey Worth walked the Lord Mayor's Show individually with the livery of fuellers who entered for the RNLI, on float number nine with the Gog and Magog in line of sight at Mansion House.. Livery folk from educators to Carmen, a hot-spot of transport. Much EV and gas was hauling floats, the RNLI had a latest spec Ineos Grenadier four by four hauling a D class lifeboat on trailer.
For Lord Mayor's Show, Alderman Alastair King DL elected as the 696th Lord Mayor of the City of London was in the golden carriage following a raft of electric EV and gas trucks. As the elected head of the City of London Corporation, he will serve as a global ambassador for the UK financial and professional services industry from Friday 8 November for a one-year term. He succeeds current Lord Mayor Professor Michael Mainelli. During his Mayoral year, Alderman King will champion his ‘Growth Unleashed’ theme, by promoting a revitalised, resilient, and risk-ready City. His theme will focus on challenging industry to maximise opportunities through responsible risk taking, driving the adoption of technologies, and celebrating the successes of the many diverse communities across the UK.
This week Stormy Stan from the RNLI stepped into the Puffin's shoes. The Puffin borrows from the heraldic puffin of the outgoing Lord Mayor to celebrate education in transport. Its previous appearance only a week earlier in the City of London earned giant education applause for Lord Mayor, Alderman and winning apprentice as the Puffin rocked the National Courier Awards. Puffin danced to the countdown of the individual winners' announcements and hugged the City of London Alderman Alison Gowman, Lord Mayor Mainelli saying, ‘that’s cool’.
